#24BeYou – New on 24B!
We are super excited about the wonderful changes happening on the mag blog. As twenty-somethings, it’s very important that we are able to freely form our own opinions, beliefs, personal perspectives, interests, etc. Each of us deserves to enjoy the process of becoming ourselves without any fear of malicious, unrequested criticism. 24BeYou is a new initiative that we’re instituting for the 24B twenty-something community. Every Wednesday, we’ll be introducing a cultural topic for discussion at 7 PM, with a twitter chat under the hash-tag #24BeYou. We want you to come, as you are, and share with us how you feel – without the fear of anyone else’s response. 24BeYou is an outlet for expression – a platform for you to share your unique thoughts and views and a place to listen to carefully and offer encouragement rather than degradation.
This Wednesday, October 24th, we will be holding our first Twitter chat on the subject of Anti-Bullying. As many of you know, October is Anti-Bullying Month. Two weeks ago, we shared the story of news anchor Jennifer Livingston and her experience with a community bully. Tomorrow, we’ll be touching on another, more drastic example of bullying that has recently taken place. Make sure to stop over at 24B for a quick read tomorrow so that you can prepare yourself to either sit in or participate in the chat. Remember – use the #24BeYou tag to give your input and do not be afraid to be yourself! Can’t wait to see you there!
Ps. Be on the lookout for our campaign via instagram, twitter and facebook, outlining an incredible celeb like Lady Gaga who (for example) is a huge anti-bullying proponent, and advocate for being true to who you are. Please, mark your calendars 10/24 7p twittaland – join us!
