PCOS Diva Talks Healthy Lifestyle + Creativity

Hey 24B Peeps and New Readers,

Meet Amy Medling of PCOS Diva. She’s 41, a proud mom and fabulous looking, and is a great model for us twenty-somethings. That is all due to her lifestyle choices she says, chronicled on the PCOS Diva website about finding fertility, femininity, health and happiness when you have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. To manage her PCOS symptoms, Amy uses a holistic nutritional and lifestyle approach. Her clean eating, meal planning, exercise tips, stress reduction, natural treatments and health coaching assist in the process to encourage optimal health and allow you to feel like a true diva. Women who are looking to better their lifestyle can definitely benefit from her private coaching, group program and meal plans.

I had a quick chat with Amy and we both shared our PCOS stories. It’s phenomenal that women with PCOS can often find refuge in each other since we can relate on so many levels. Amy stresses the importance of a healthy lifestyle which includes eating whole foods, staying away from dairy and eating gluten-free foods. We also touched on the subject of creativity, which we can sometimes forget with PCOS due to the mood swings, depression and feeling unmotivated. Amy says “put yourself first.” “When I started taking care of myself, loving myself and making me a priority (in spite of my PCOS) I became a new woman. My husband started calling me a Diva. What a compliment!”

In order to feel more positive, she suggests getting in touch with your creative side – whether it’s cooking, painting, writing, dancing or community service, whatever it may be. Once you do that you’ll find ways to distract your mind from the negative woes associated with PCOS. Great advice Amy, thank you! In September we’ll be joining PCOS Diva’s Jump Start Program for seven days of detox in honor of PCOS Awareness Month. I’ll be documenting my experience on the mag blog so stay tuned! In the meantime, just stop by pcosdiva.com and I’m sure you’ll be coming back because it’s just that good!
