Meet Amy Medling of PCOS Diva. She’s 41, a proud mom and fabulous looking, and is a great model for us twenty-somethings. That is all due to her lifestyle choices she says, chronicled on the PCOS Diva website about finding fertility, femininity, health and happiness when you have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. To manage her PCOS symptoms, Amy uses a holistic nutritional and lifestyle approach. Her clean eating, meal planning, exercise tips, stress reduction, natural treatments and health coaching assist in the process to encourage optimal health and allow you to feel like a true diva. I had a quick chat with Amy and we both shared our PCOS stories. It’s phenomenal that women with PCOS can often find refuge in each other since we can relate on so many levels. Amy stresses the importance of a healthy lifestyle which includes eating whole foods, staying away from dairy and eating gluten-free foods. We also touched on the subject of creativity, which we can sometimes forget with PCOS due to the mood swings, depression and feeling unmotivated. Amy says “put yourself first.” “When I started taking care of myself, loving myself and making me a priority (in spite of my PCOS) I became a new woman. My husband started calling me a Diva. What a compliment!”
